Suh has become one of the most talked about defensive players in the NFL and his play on the field has quickly made him the next sports icon in Detroit. Suh was born to a Jamaican mother and a Cameroonian father.In Homecoming, Suh proudly drives through his rainy hometown of Portland, Ore., in his new 2011 Chrysler 300, retracing his humble beginnings. As he drives, we see brief glimpses of his childhood room with pictures and a collection of sports trophies from his youth are shown. As Suh pulls up to his parents home, his mother emerges from the house and greets him with a hug and a kiss. John Varvatos AttitudeBorn in Detroit, fashion designer, John Varvatos started his own company that represents an entire mens lifestyle brand in 2000. The designer has been recognized three times by the CFDA with an American Fashion Award for New Menswear Designer (June 2000) and Menswear Designer of the Year (June 2001 and June 2005) and was honored as GQs Designer of the Year in 2007. At an early age John was exposed to defining musicians. The creative spirit, electricity and edginess intrinsic in the personal style of these rock n roll icons inspired John at an early age, and influenced the evolution of his eclectic sensibility. This can be seen as a unifying theme in his design and it is deeply ingrained in every expression of his brand.In the Chrysler 300 advertising spot titled Attitude, we see Varvatos seeking inspiration at a record store in Brooklyn. While inside we see him rummaging through a stack of vinyl records and given some insight into his Detroit musical influences of R&B, soul, rock n roll. Varvatos walks out of the store, record under his arm and into his Chrysler 300. We see him driving through an urban neighborhood, passing by late night clubs and people in the street. Varvatos parks his Chrysler 300, walks up a flight of stairs and into his studio. His walls are filled with his creative influences; we see open books and drawing pads as he is in the middle of working late on his next collection. While the rest of the city sleeps or parties, he puts on the record he just purchased and settles in to a night of work. His Detroit blue-collar spirit pushes him late into the night, with Detroit-based rock music serving as his fuel. Varvatos is a man who hasn't forgotten where he came from. Interview with Ottawa Dodge's Business Development Manager Mike Pearson January 25, 2011It is an exciting time at Ottawa Dodge. Year over year sales are up significantly, and the dealership is focusing on improvements at all levels. And in the traditionally slower month of January, Ottawa Dodge is poised to hit an all time sales record, already more than doubling sales from last year. We sat down with Mike Pearson, Business Development Manager to find out how its happening.It is an exciting time to be at Ottawa Dodge.Pearson - You are absolutely right on that one. Its been exciting to be here for quite some time now, and to see the results of long term planning coming to fruition, well, it is satisfying for myself and others.Business Development Manager is a new role at a car dealership isn't it? Can you explain what it entails?Pearson - Actually, only the title really is different. The idea behind business development, as most experienced and established companies can tell you, is to find new ways of doing business, while refining procedures and policies already in place. If something isnt working, I can see it and respond to it quicker than other dealerships, who dont have a person in this role.New ways of doing business?Pearson - The car industry, and the whole world of doing business for that matter, is changing exponentially. Ten years ago, most consumers relied on word of mouth, and coming into the dealership to get brochures as their primary means of investigating their next purchase. Now, over 80% of our customers have read up online on our website www.ottawadodgechryslerjeep.com, or on the Chrysler websites about their products. Our goal is to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to customer services, and providing innovative ways of keeping in touch following your purchase.Can you give an example?Pearson - Certainly. Social media presence has exploded over the last year. If you dont have a presence on Twitter or Facebook, you are missing out on a simple, and cost efficient, means of keeping in touch with your clients. Ottawa Dodge has one of the freshest, most innovative pages on Twitter and Facebook, and we have followers from not only Ottawa, but also the United States, who follow what we do online, including the Chrysler corporation. When the big boys are watching one specific dealer that closely, you have to be doing something right.Wow, that is great. What else is new?Pearson - We have had some outstanding promotions over the last year, with one of our customers actually winning their purchase (a new Dodge Journey), so we have had some really exciting times. This year, however, we are taking it to a whole new level in terms of customer satisfaction. We will be enjoying some exciting promotions, a new dealership event in the spring, and a rollout of one of the most innovative products in Ottawa history. In fact, no other dealer in Ottawa offers this service, so we are pretty excited.Can you let us in on the big secret?Pearson - We are a couple of short weeks from the complete unveiling of this product, so I have to keep it on the downlow for now, but rest assured, it promises to be a game changer in this town.We saw some, how should we describe it, interesting videos on your website and facebook page.Pearson - (laughing) Yes those were entertaining! I think it speaks a lot to the level of fun we like to have here, and the fact that our GM has a great sense of humour. Hes a great guy, and he supports initiatives like that. 2010 Viper FE
The current generation Dodge Viper is driving off into the sunset and to celebrate the final year of production, Chrysler is offering a limited production run of 50 "Final Edition" models. The special edition models come in Graphite Clearcoat with a centre black stripe traced in red. The production run will consist of 18 roadsters, 20 coupes and 12 ACR (American Club Racer) models, with the Coupes and ACRs having black windshield surrounds. Unique side sill badges identify the Final Edition models. Six-spoke wheels painted in Anthracite finish off the look on coupe and roadster models, while ACR models get black five-spoke Sidewinder wheels.This will be the first time the roadster is included in the Final Edition run. The previous production run (in 2002) consisted of 326 coupes and 34 ACRs, in Viper Red Clearcoat with white stripes.This generation's Final Edition features an interior in black with custom red accent stitching, red painted halo surrounds on the gauge cluster, bright stainless steel screws on the center stack and Final Edition floor mats.A production number plaque (1-50) is located on the shifter bezel.As with all present generation models, Final Edition cars get power from the venerable 8.4-litre V10 engine. With 600 horsepower and 560 lb.-ft. of torque, 0-100 km/h takes about four seconds, claims Chrysler, en route to a top speed of 325 km/h.
